Building Momentum: The latest Komo features elevating control and customization

Stay ahead with the latest Komo updates from November 2024. Explore new features, enhancements, and tools designed to elevate your marketing activations.

Here at Komo, we’re firm believers in the importance of ‘building in public’ because it allows us to share our journey transparently, engage directly with our community, and create solutions that truly resonate with the needs of our customers.

That is why we’re excited to launch Building Momentum - a series of monthly updates that cover the latest developments in the Komo product and a sneak peek of what’s coming in the near future.

To kick off the series, we’re excited to share a range of enhancements to the Komo platform that are all focused on offering greater control and customization to our users.

Control embeds, your way

While you’ve been able to embed the cover image of a Komo card into your apps and websites for some time now, you’ll now have greater control of the embed experience through some powerful updates to Komo’s Embed SDK.

These improvements are designed to give you more options as to how you surface and launch Komo content within your websites and apps. Whether you want to bind the launch to a click on any HTML element or even program your code to launch the Komo content when particular conditions are met (like remaining on a page for a given period of time), you now have the power to do so.

And as a little chef’s kiss, you can now automatically pass user data from the logged-in user state, through the Embed SDK so that Komo form fields can automatically be prefilled.

Level up governance with Audit Log

Nothing is worse than when you have built an award-winning activation in Komo, only to come back and find that some ‘so-and-so’ has completely changed and botched the experience. Actually, that’s not true. What’s worse is not knowing who that ‘so-and-so’ actually is, when they made the change and what they did.

That’s why we’re excited to launch Audit Log! With Audit Log, you have access to a complete record of every action that was taken in your Komo instance, who it was performed by (including their IP address) and when it occurred.

This powerful feature gives you greater control over all activity within Komo and provides all the data you need to improve your punishment governance.

Enhance engagement with multi-frame support for Photo Frame

The Photo Frame card has just received an impressive frame lift. Whether you’re eight or 80, you’re bound to have dabbled in Snapchat or Instagram filters. While Photo Frame has always offered a similar experience, through the application of branded frames to your selfie, you were previously limited to a single frame per card.

Photo Frame now allows you to upload multiple frames to the card, giving users the ability to choose the frame that best aligns with their preferences.

Whether you’re creating a branded experience or seasonal theme, this feature offers greater customization and flexibility and enhances user engagement by delivering a more personalized and shareable experience.

Get smarter with improved prize awarding rules

Prize awarding in Komo just got more sophisticated (but not in a complicated way). We know that each of our customers has different requirements when it comes to awarding prizes, and a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn’t cut it.

Now, you have enhanced control over prize distribution with a powerful rule builder that lets you define advanced logic for awarding prizes based on your specific criteria.

Whether you’re looking to randomly reward a single user for engaging with a specific set of cards or distribute prizes to every participant (cue Oprah), this feature is designed to support any scenario seamlessly.

Make list building hassle-free with Workflows

‘Work smarter, not harder’ is arguably one of the most overused phrases in tech over the last decade. However, it’s clear that we’re all looking for ways to automate our work so we can spend more time on high-value tasks.

We’ve integrated Contact Lists into Workflows to help you do just that! With this update, you can dynamically add or remove contacts from lists based on specific events, actions, or triggers, and even automate workflows to launch whenever contacts are added to a list.

This is just the first step as we move toward the rollout of dynamic lists where you can automatically create lists based on specific conditions.

And there’s so much more to come…

As we move into the new year, you can expect to see many more exciting and powerful features drop, designed to enhance your experience, streamline your workflows, and drive even greater engagement.

➡️ In the near term, you can look forward to further advancements in prize awarding rules, including the ability to set eligibility criteria for instant win prizes.

➡️ We’re also gearing up to launch a highly-anticipated CRM integration with Mailchimp, a favorite CRM tool among our customers.

➡️ But the release we’re most excited about, slated for release next year is a fully-functional survey product within Komo, empowering you to seamlessly integrate surveys into your activations and promotions.

Make sure you stay tuned for more exciting updates coming your way very soon!
